IEP Session 5

There you go, the last session for IEP before adik2 ilham break for the first term school holidays. Keena requested this session coz she'll be going away for work for a bit after adik2 comes back from school break.. she's scared she'll miss the boys

We had our third IEP session today..
Upon adik2 ilham's requests we are now trying to do sessions every week.. so it's going to be every friday for now..
hmm.. good session - now at the start of every class, we do a short revision on what they've learn in the previous weeks.. we also started the session with adik2 introducing themselves to the new kakak2 (Kak Ana, Kak Ruhil and Kak Gem).. and we told adik2 that they need to introduce themselves to new people and i'm happy to see that Lan did so when Kak Jan came into the class - he asked her "kak, what is your name?" etc etc..  way to go Lan!!
Then we had a story-telling session for adik2 comprehension.. we definitely have to break them into 2 groups the next time and have different modules for the weaker ones.. Kak Ana and Abang Khalid were great storytellers nonetheless..
Kak Keena - gave them homework to do: to get meanings of each of the bubbled key words in Malay for the session - good job keena! 
We then ended the session with Auntie Annes courtesy of Kak Keena - thanks babe!
ps: I hope our IEP sessions with the adik2 will improve their English in some way or another.. insya'allah

IEP Session 2

we had the second IEP session at ilham today - adik2 were all very eager as usual!
when we got there, azlan a.k.a lan was standing outside and was not allowed to join the class coz he was being punished by the warden for being naughty.. he joined us after 20 mins..
we did a review on 'self-introduction' things like - what's your name? how old are you? where are you from? etc and got them to write the answers down this time.. we definitely have to do something next session coz there's a gap amongst them - some are very weak and some are quite advance..
we then continued with 'WIN, LOSE OR DRAW' game.. was fun to see them guessing what their friends where drawing - and some had the answer in malay but didn't know what it was in english...
fellow volunteers!! there's a lotta work to be done here... next session yeah!

the cny holidays bbq cum lepaq @ eju & muz's in putra heights...
started off with tesco trip with nazeem & dafi (bbq bbq! read it at http://ir1nny.blogspot.com/2005/02/bbq-bbq.html )
then headed to putra heights to start off the fire.. with nazeem the bbq masta' & dafi p around - we had no problems there!! 
then eat eat eat lah.. what else..

also, i was very  coz AHMAD called from aberdeen when i was at the bbq

PROJEK TEKAD

Projek Tekad Selangor 2005 @ Kem Tekali, Hulu Langat..
my dream to go camping since i got back from the UK, came true!! the experience was totally different than Tekad KL 2004, i have to say.. new challenges exist >> first, no of students doubled >> second, profile of students were very different >> third, we had to set up our 'homes' for the 2 nights stay >> fourth, there were no network coverage in the camp >> fifth, the water was danggg cold!! hehe very challenging!!
despite those challenges, i was happy with my 'coaching' role this time round.. to me, i definitely improved my facilitating skills and my level of confidence to 'coach' the students compared to the last Tekad.. 
hope we all made a difference in our champions' life to some extend that weekend.....
 wey hey!!! pat on the back for all of us!!

went out to devi's corner @ hartamas for tea with ahmad and his friends.. we waited till breakers is open.. that was a long-needed pool session.. haven't played pool in a while now coz my guru (ezanee) is lil bz at work.. *bowwwwwiiiiinnnnggg*

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

we were all planning to head for penang for the new years this year.. unfortunately or in our case fortunately the tsunami incident happened and affected penang the weekend before.. (when i say fortunately, it's just with the thought that we could have been there when it happened, but we weren't - alhamdulillah) 
so we canceled our bookings @ sri sayang and just chilled in kl instead... wasn't really in the celebration mood...
